This piston is the ideal replacement for the old-school Mahle piston. It has all the modern features you’d expect from an upgraded engine. Just think of the new VTS 125 cc kits with Nikasil. However, the piston can also be used in an old-stock air- or water-cooled cylinder where the standard chrome lining is worn out and could benefit from an A-grade Nikasil lining.
We can also perform a power upgrade on your cylinder—in various stages and fully customized to your preferences. We do this before applying the new Nikasil coating. This allows us to deliver a beautiful, finished product.
In short: Zündappdokter provides you with the best quality and service. Our pistons are available in two sizes: 53.94 mm and 53.95 mm. The recommended piston clearance for standard to lightly tuned use is 0.055–0.060 mm. For higher RPMs/power output, we recommend 0.060–0.065 mm.

This cylinder does not have a Nikasil-coated wall or piston, but we do supply it with a cylinder head that you can machine yourself. If desired, we can apply a Nikasil coating to the bore for you. This protection is of the same quality as that of a ready-to-use cylinder. You can also order the cylinder with a Nikasil liner and a piston of your choice. In that case, we can customize them based on your driving style and the intended application. Be sure to ask about the options!
This latest version of the 125 cc air-cooled engine features a cylinder set that looks very similar to earlier models but delivers more power. Furthermore, the torque and smoothness represent a significant improvement over the stock cylinder and its reproductions. The air-cooled engine combines a familiar chrome cylinder liner with the latest technology, including a top-quality piston.
The set can be identified by the VTS logo, which is affixed on both sides of the intake port. You can order the set in combination with a different bore size if desired. We can adjust the RPM upon request, which will affect the total price.
High-quality 45 mm/70 cc piston for Zündapp from the VHM brand. These pistons are available exclusively from us in sizes 44.95, 44.96, and 44.97. They are ideal for tuned machines that need to reach high RPMs and deliver a lot of power. The piston crown has the same angle as a standard Athena piston, so it is a direct replacement.

We swear by VTS’s 125 cc cylinder kit. 125 cc cylinder kits from other suppliers often feature a very poor-quality chrome plating and a poor piston-to-cylinder fit. As a result, these kits frequently experience problems.
Furthermore, the combustion chamber and the squish ring in the cylinder head are far from ideal. Overall, cylinder kits from competitors only produce 16 to 17 pk. VTS kits, on the other hand, deliver around 21 pk and offer good torque.
